OUR STORY

Blankets for Burn Kids

Blankets for Burn Kids was founded by Kelly Falardeau and her kids Alex, Cody and Parker. Kelly got burnt when she was only 2-yrs-old to 75% of her body and knows what it's like to feel ugly, unloved, unwanted and rejected.

Together with her kids, they created a blanket from one of Kelly's paintings and had them manufactured so that they can share them with other kids who need to feel more loved, needed and wanted.

Last summer they gave away blankets to the Alberta Children's Burn Camp, moms and firefighters at the Ft McMurray wild fire, Soroptimist Club of Edmonton, Soroptimist Club of Northern Alberta, Little Warriors and other burn children who needed to feel more loved, needed and wanted.

But this summer. . .

We want to do something crazy fun. We want to skydive and Jump for Kamp Kids and raise enough money so we can give 1000 blankets to Kamp Kids.

500 will go to Kamp Kiwanis at Bragg Creek (Check them out here: www.KampKiwanis.ca) and the other 500 will go to various camps in Canada and U.S.

Kelly and Alex will be jumping, but Cody is too young and Parker.... well, let's just say he'd rather be on the ground than floating in the air... :)

Would you like to be a Jumper?

Yep - we're looking for more jumpers!

Has skydiving been something on your bucket list?

If so, why not do it for charity?

Each jumper is responsible for raising a minimum of $1000 which will go towards sponsoring 1000 blankets to be given away to disadvantaged & disabled kids who need more love.

One other BONUS.... this event is being filmed for Kelly's next documentary 'Still Beautiful' which is about her life story and you could be in it too!

I don't want to jump,

but I do want to sponsor

Hey - we love the non-jumpers too! We need them to support us when we get on the plane, and we're scared SHITLESS!

We need them to help sponsor money so we can purchase the blankets for the kids.

We need them on the ground to give us hugs and out of breath from doing something so amazingly scary.

We need them to be a part of our barbeque.

We just need everybody for multiple reasons!!!  :) :)
